Corporate Identity Design of NIC Co.,Ltd.
To have a strong faith one's own sense
and sensibillty, and to lay out types on flatland
as if drawing a picture so that one’s IDEA
visualizes as a symbolic artwork. when I completed
this logo mark for NIC, I came to realize
what marks, typography and CI are aii about.
CI for NIC, a computer-related firm, is one of
the representative CI designs I challenged with all
my designing competence.
For this work, I was awarded the first Grand Prix of
Japan Typography Association.
Concept of NIC’s Corporate Image Poster
Corporate image posters must be directed
as an art form and have the power to communicate
crystallized beauty of CI design. I personified
the mark of NIC drawn symbolically on a flatland
into three-dimensional imagery. I had their
splendid and entertainment-oriented world visualized
so that CI of NIC, the firm’s self in other words,
would be propagated into the world.
Art directors must bloom their own talent on
a stage called advertising posters, and also assume
the role of propagandist of aesthetics.
This corporate image poster for NIC is my art, and
is stage as well, where my competence as
art director was fully brought forth, triggered off by
the revolutionary force of its symbol mark.
